Melanie Scholz
Melanie is a registered psychologist who provides compassionate, evidence-based support to adults navigating life’s challenges, emotional wellbeing, relationships, and recovery from trauma.
Melanie understands that reaching out for support can feel like a significant step. She believes that a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, curiosity, compassion, and collaboration is the foundation for meaningful and lasting change. Her aim is to ensure every client feels safe, respected, and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey.
Melanie has completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Graduate Diploma) and is a registered psychologist with AHPRA. She is also a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc. (AAPI).
She has a particular interest in working with adults experiencing trauma, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD), as well as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and perinatal mental health concerns. She also enjoys supporting neurodivergent individuals and takes a neuroaffirming approach that recognises and values each person’s unique strengths, experiences, and way of engaging with the world.
Whether you are recovering from trauma, feeling overwhelmed by anxiety or depression, navigating relationship challenges, adjusting to parenthood, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, Melanie offers a compassionate and collaborative space where you can feel genuinely understood and supported. She works alongside clients to make sense of difficult experiences, develop practical strategies, and create meaningful change aligned with their values and goals.
In addition to individual therapy, Melanie provides couples counselling using the evidence-based Gottman Method, supporting couples to strengthen communication, deepen emotional connection, rebuild trust, and navigate challenges together.
Melanie’s approach is collaborative, transparent, and tailored to each person’s needs. She draws on a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and the Gottman Method for couples therapy.
